Who We Are

The webmaster is Rev. Philip Hamm. Ordained as a minister of the gospel by the Mennonite Brethren Church. The Mennonite Brethren denomination has its foundation in the reformation with Menno Simons, a born again, anabaptist Dutch catholic priest, who was excomunicated because he believed the bible taught that only believers should be baptized. Since infants have not made conscious confessions of their faith in Jesus Christ it was not right to baptize them for a future potential decision on their part. Faith and repentance before baptism is what occurred in the early church. (Acts 2:42)

I am a born again believer, seeking to fulfill the great commission, filled with the Holy Spirit on a journey to become as much like Christ as possible. I am human and am sure others can find my faults and imperfections. I desire to learn ( be a disciple – learner) and am open to being challenged. If you see anything on this web site that you disagree with from scripture, (sola scriptura) I plead with you that you show me how it is wrong. I am open to change but convictions do not flip flop easily. Pray that God will be glorified in our lives and the world will be brought to its knees before an awesome, merciful God who has provided salvation and forgiveness to all people.

I grew up in a Christian home in southern Canada (Ruthven, Ontario) and we attended a Mennonite Brethren church in Leamington. It is there I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour and was baptized and added to the church. I was a missionary in Japan and a pastor in Orillia Ontario. I have computer skills and do quite a bit of computer repair and programming. This web site is built to become the foundation of a discipling program to extend the church in the Kingsville, Essex County area of Ontario.

The web site name is twofold, we are to grow as disciples and we are to grow others as disciples. The Great Commission of Jesus in Matthew 28:19, 20 commands us to make disciples – those who learn by example, practice and experience. Many churches are running businesses, commercialized the gospel, building large edifices to their glory and missing the mark of discipling. This web site is dedicated to God to bring glory to Him and seek to help all people become fruitful for the Kingdom of God. We will seek to give away everything we can free and if there are products available for sale, we will seek to keep costs as low as possible.
